Program Description:
CEA Paris Center Summer Program

Take courses for your Engineering degree while setting yourself apart from the competition. Study in Paris, where many scientists and mathematicians have made significant contributions to the field. Students will explore course work through site visits and lectures on special topics that complement their core engineering curriculum. Additional elective courses focus on an aspect of French culture, which may fulfill a humanities or social science requirement. While French language isn’t required, we’ll help you gain some basic communication skills to navigate this historic city.

Program Structure
Choose to take 1-2 Engineering courses, or 1 Engineering course and 1 elective course from the social sciences or humanities.

Engineering courses meet for 45 or 60 contact hours/3 or 4 credits, and elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the 1-course option, you may earn 3-4 credits (45-60 contact hours); if you choose the 2-course option, you may earn 6-7 credits (90-105 contact hours).

Engineering courses meet 4 times per week, Monday-Thursday. Elective courses generally meet 3-4 times per week, Monday-Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.

Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Through a grant program geared to local students, you'll have the opportunity to sit alongside French students in a few of your classes.

Where You'll Stay
